Blog 1.8

Dang, my last blog this last week I've been really confident in playing the guitar and I wanted to show you by actually playing the song! I've known the lyrics ever since I was a kid, but of course i just finally found out how to play it decently, I thought I did well-ish, I don't know, tell me what you think!

This week was pretty great for me! How was your week? Did you do anything exciting?  Well during this week, a cousin of mine that knows how to play guitar really well came over and heard me playing. With this, he was ecstatic and came into my room and played me like 5 different songs. After that, I asked him to play the song I have been learning. After a few tries,  he said he hated it. I was too hard, he didn't like how you had to pick out the chords and your fingers jumped so far. After that he asked me to play it and was amazed. For the rest of the week I played with a little chip on my shoulder and I loved playing. Well I'll see you one more time next week!

Hey, it's your boy, the failure! This week I was basically just trying to keep working on the third to first chord conversation again, and I do not know what it is but I cannot figure it out. I think since it's such a big jump and all of my fingers make a transition my mind conglomerates. I when I play the first line of chords and don't try to keep the rhythm, I just focus on sounding good, my mommy says I honestly do sound good, it's just that transition and rhythm that will kill me I believe...

Hey... this week I didnt get too far with much,  I'm just trying to figure out how to go from that third chord back down to the first chord fast so I can have a nice melody and beat to the song. If you have ever heard the song What It's Like by Everlast, you know they keep a steady rhythm throughout the whole song and I need to figure out that rhythm.  Maybe I'm overthinking it maybe I just suck at playing guitar. Either way, stay tuned for next week.

Hey, how was your week? This week I went on the side of trying to learn strumming a little bit and I was supposed to try and find some help, but nobody could reach me in time. With this, I tried to learn by myself too and really I believe it's just a rhythm deal. With all music, you have to follow a certain rhythm and I feel like the strumming is one of the things that create the rhythm. Sometimes with music you will really like a beat and start tapping your foot or bobbing your head and I feel maybe this is that background that gives you that feeling. Either way this is how it sounds so far, tell me what you think...

Blog 1.3

Hey, it's your boy Quest again. I was practicing learning the chords more all week and I honestly believe I got it down way better. I can now get it down without looking at my fingers each time. Daily I would get a little mad though because of how terrible it could sound at points because your fingers have to be so firm on each and every chord. For next week I want to try and learn how to figure the strumming out even though I do not understand it at all. I plan on trying to get help from someone that knows how to play instead of a beginner just coming in. Either way I think it was a pretty great week.

Blog 1.2

What's up? How was your week? Did you accomplish anything in life? Because I sure didn't! During my second week of playing the guitar, nothing really got better. I feel like the reasoning for this is because I would just go home and pick up my guitar to listen to myself play the chords, I did not play them with a purpose. Each week I need to start setting goals it seems so then I have something I can strive for and really see my progress. Next week I am going to try and make it so then I can switch chords faster and do not take to long to switch and it remotely sounds like a song. Anyways I hope your week wasn't as pathetic as mine, have a great day!
