Blog 2.2

The world can be a very wicked place, but you have the influence to change it all for yourself. Many people have the mindset that things last forever, and everything is their fault, these people are know as pessimists. Others have the mindset that actions in life are temporary and that what goes wrong is not their fault, these people are known as optimists.  Pessimists hurt themselves by using the words "can't", "should", "won't". Examples of these are I can't make the basket, I should read my book instead of play video games, or I won't find any friends in college. They bigger picture of this is what is keeping you from shooting and making the basket? Why aren't you reading right now? Why can't you make friends in college? All of these answers would be replied with a simple reply that is just about how they aren't good enough to or how they don't want to, but the thing is, with that mindset you aren't bettering yourself.  Optimists may use these words but they use them in different manners. For example, the weather is bad but that won't be a problem, when should I get to work or I love brussels sprouts, I just can't stand mushrooms. My point is they use negative words in a productive manner and keep building up in their lives. I had more to say but I did this and forgot didn't have the time to finish and then forgot to post so I will catch up with you next week.

Blog 2.1

New year, new blog. Cringy, right? This genius hour I am going to be teaching myself about depression, anxiety, and why humans get down on themselves as a whole. Many people get bullied, many people go home and cry themselves to sleep at night and I want to find out why our brains sometimes cannot take what life is putting us through. At the end of the genius hour, I myself hope to have conquered a stronger mental ability, considering I have seizures due to the fact I have depression and anxiety. Seizures, epilepsy, funny right? Many people bully me and get inside of my head and are able to taunt me on a daily basis because of things that I may not be able to control, but others may find funny. The world we live in is a sick place but it can get better. This first week I was just looking on the internet about why we get inside our own heads and I also went to the library and got three books, Darkness Visible  by William Styron, Please Stop Laughing at Me... by Jodee Blanco, and No One Cares About Crazy People by Ron Powers. Anyways, maybe we can figure this cold world out within these eight weeks.
